The South Asian Experience
A Healing Collective
The partition of the Indian subcontinent in 1947 brought liberation from British Rule, but at a tragic cost. The presence of foreign rulers over millennia is a collective trauma silenced for decades in the aftermath of many Partitions.Ā Millions left in the wake focusing on survival, re-rooting themselves, and re-establishing home. The pain was buried until the last of the Partition Survivors and their descendants began to understand that these events, decades ago, continues to affect our communities today.
It's time to process our historical legacy and embark on a healing journey. Traumas like Partition don't simply disappear. Their imprints linger through generations until weĀ integrate them into our being, transforming them into our wisdom.
Collective traumas necessitate collective healing. This space is dedicated to that purpose. It's a place for remembering, witnessing, and integrating our South Asian experiences as a healing movement. A forum for memory keepers to connect, share insights and inspirations.Ā Ā By reflecting on the effects PartitionĀ and other historical events have on us in the present we can lay the foundation for a more unified future.
Being South Asian
You are cordially invited to embark on a journey of PRESENCE, while delving into our history of separation and the lingering echoes of British Colonialism. This collective is designed for South Asians who have been personally affected by Partition, Colonialism or have inherited its legacy.
As interest grows we will meet for 90-minutes, once a month in order to create community through this shared connection. Together, we will gently navigate the ripples of historical events in our contemporary lives and cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves and each other to bridge divisions. Through unity we canĀ share and bear witness to both the sufferings and inspirations birthed from cultural separation with a renewed sense of wholeness. Please join the waitlist.
